Glue Editor Lite

An easy to use Ogre scene editor

Glue Editor Screenshot

Designed to makes it easier to create scenes for Ogre3D and load them into your game. The way it works is to add a simple SQLite database to your current media folder and manage the mesh files in your project. You can then use the editor to layout the entities and export in the DotScene format.

The project uses Mogre and .NET WinForms for the core implementation, but that does not limit it's use to Mogre projects. You can use the editor to create scenes for any Ogre related project. The only reason it's tied to Ogre is because it uses the mesh format.

History

Originally the goal of Glue Editor was to create a generic map / level / world editor similar to Valve Hammer. Unfortunately, the project was very large in scope and I found it hard to do on my own. I tried getting some help by making the project open source. This proved to be more work than I expected in terms of managing the project and keeping it on track. Development got out of hand and it seemed like the project was going to die.

To keep the project alive I decided to greatly simplify the scope to a basic scene editor, something that I could achieve in a few months work. This is how the Lite version was born. The Lite version is no longer open source but if your interested in seeing the open source original code it's still located in a google code repository. The open source version is no longer maintained.
