{SPLIT(colsize=50%|50%)} {BOX(class="Layout_box7")} !!About me {img src="img/wiki_up/User_Beauty.jpg" alt="user_Beauty.jpg" align="left"} I'm a student from Germany and use ((MOGRE|Mogre)) for a research project. I like to work with Ogre/((MOGRE|Mogre)) since summer 2007. Also I'm happy about the great Ogre community, whose members give support in the forum and add useful content to the wiki. So I want to contibute my own experiences back to the community, especially by updating and extending the wiki. I'm surprised about myself how many hours I spend for wiki work. The previous wiki software counted about 1500 edits. Well, this is my way to support my community. Messages to me are possible by [http://www.ogre3d.org/forums/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=15020|forum pm] or e-mail to <u>beautyod ''at'' gmx .de</u> <small>(In e-mail subjects the word "Ogre" should be included. Then it can't be marked as spam.)</small> {img src="img/wiki_up/User_Beauty2.jpg" alt="User Beauty2.jpg" align="right"} If you like to see some photos about my India trip and other topics look here: [http://www.beauty-of-darkness.de|www.beauty-of-darkness.de] Further photos are here: [http://beauty.online.de|beauty.online.de] {BOX} --- {BOX(class="Layout_box7")} !!My project It's a __visualization environment for underwater vehicles__ which are navigated by external behavior simulators (e.g. implemented with Matlab/Simulink). Additionally my project __simulates underwater sensors__ (e.g. sonar) which perform measurement inside of the virtual 3D world. The simulated sensor data will be sent back to the vehicle simulators and are used for navigation and inspection purpose. For measurement simulation the project uses my self developed library by help of ((Ray query with MOGRE|Ogre ray query)) (on polygon level) and ((Collision detection with Newton|collision detection)) by the ((OgreNewt|Newton)) physics library. More technical details you find [http://www.ogre3d.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=456310#p456310|here]. In 2009 my project was presented on the international marine related conference [http://www.compit.info|COMPIT] (Hungary) and got an award for one of the best publication of the conference. In 2011 I got an invitation to present my project on the 3D conference [http://www.go-3d.de/de/archiv/konferenz-go-3d-2011/schirmherrschaft.html|Go-3D] in Germany. A good way for Ogre advertisement (-; {img src="img/wiki_up/Screenshot_project_CViewVR.jpg" width="200" align="right"} Online-Publications: * [http://www.iosb.fraunhofer.de/servlet/is/5382/CViewVR.pdf?command=downloadContent&filename=CViewVR.pdf|Flyer] about my project (German) * [http://www.beauty-of-darkness.de/pub/Studienjahresarbeit_Andreas.Voigt_Unterwasservisualisierung_CViewVR.pdf|Student research paper] about 3D visualization, Ogre and import of VRML models (German) * [http://www.ssi.tu-harburg.de/doc/webseiten_dokumente/compit/dokumente/compit2009.pdf|COMPIT conference paper] with focus on sonar simulation (look at page 150..164, size: 50MB) (English) * [http://vimeo.com/28606281|Video] about my maritime research department (German) {BOX} {SPLIT}
