History: Buildbot

short tutorial for adding buildslaves to the ogre buildbot.

windows

• install the requirements
  • setup a working windows build environment with visual studio express c++
  • get python 2.x: http://python.org
  • get twisted: http://twistedmatrix.com/trac/wiki/Downloads
  • get buildbot: http://buildbot.net/trac (http://buildbot.net/trac/wiki/DownloadInstall)
  • get win32api: http://python.net/crew/skippy/win32/Downloads.html
  • get subversion binary: http://subversion.tigris.org/getting.html#windows
• create the client:
  • execute in a console under windows:
  • C:\ogre_slave>C:\Python26\Scripts\buildbot.bat create-slave . buildbotfarm.net:10500 <client_name> <client_password>
• setup the sources:
  • unpack the ogre dependencies into C:\ogre_slave\build
  • setup cmake manually with cmake-gui and create the nmake build files
• create buildbot start script:

rem add some paths
 SET PATH=%PATH%;C:\Program Files\Subversion\bin
 SET PATH=%PATH%;C:\Program Files\CMake 2.6\bin
 rem setup environment for building
 call "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\vcvarsall.bat" x86
 C:\Python26\Scripts\buildbot.bat start .
