FOV (field of view or field of vision) - The angular extent of the observable world that is seen at any given moment.

In Ogre it is vertical (FOVy), though in many other engines and modelers, like 3ds Max, it is horiziontal (FOV represent the horizontal angle of the Camera Frustum).
Only one FOV angle is allowed to be set in a 3d engine / software, because the other angle is automatically calculated via the Viewport's aspect ratio.
