MS Windows > MS Visual C++

I believe the information about what version of DXSDK to use could be made clearer:

If using VC6 use the "Summer 2004" version.

Is this the original 9.0c from September 2004? Does this mean that if using VS.NET 2002 or 2003 or anything else I should use the *latest* DXSDK available?

I read in the forums that OGRE is still developed against the "Summer 2004" version. Shouldn't I use that "Summer 2004" SDK regardless of compiler version? The example path then says "(August 2005)".

So, what version of the DXSDK should be used under what circumstances?

Ubuntu/Debian and Eihort

Note by Kencho: In Ubuntu Dapper (6,06) I need to use this entry instead (Eihort):

 apt-get install g++ gcc cpp make automake1.9 libtool    libsdl1.2-dev libdevil-dev libfreetype6-dev libgtkmm2.0-dev    libcegui-mk2-0c2a libcegui-mk2-dev libcegui-mk2-doc libxerces26-dev    libpng3-dev libmng-dev libtiff4-dev liblcms1-dev libpng3 libjpeg62-dev    libzzip-dev libxaw7-dev libopenexr-dev libopenexr2c2a libxxf86vm-dev

Maybe not, but probably the same Debian packages have changed their name or being removed.
Also, nVidia CG Toolkit and FreeImage need to be downloaded manually.

I updated the link for steps to setup the platform sdk for VisC++ Express users. MSDN has rearranged a lot of pages. Will check the rest of the links under this section.
